Every May, the Butuan City Government holds the 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧 for Butuanons who are coming home to the city, as one of the major activities of the Balangay Festival. This is to pay tribute for their contribution to the development of the city. Organized by the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, Balikbutuan includes a full-day Industrial Tour on May 14 (Tuesday) and a dinner reception on May 15 (Wednesday) with a themed attire of indigenized Filipiñana.
