Butuan City Manpower Training Center

( BCMTC )

In a free and democratic society, responsibilities for the development and utilization of manpower resources are located in fact and by necessity in both private and public hands. Needless to say, governmental policies and actions today constitute the most powerful single instrumentality for shaping the manpower resources. Butuan City, with the very determined mayor Hon. Democrito D. Plaza II as its forerunner, ventured in providing sustainable programs designed to remove certain bottlenecks in the economy – that is providing individuals the necessary skills to fill areas of increased labor demand. Pursuant to SP Ordinance 2998-2006, it has thus far, created the first and the only LGU-run and operated Manpower Training Center in the Philippines, otherwise known as the Butuan City Manpower Training Center or plainly BCMTC.
The creation of BCMTC is a relevant program in these times when proper training, communication and even personality has, apparently,  become the measurement of success in almost every field. The center was purposely mandated to train people in the fields of home management, care-giving, with an added touch of hotel-restaurant management, both for local and overseas employment. Such an endeavor gives competitive edge to those who willfully subject themselves to the employability enhancement training.
It is the thrust of the City Government of Butuan to produce well-equipped, properly-trained, and job-ready individuals who wish to land work outside the country. BCMTC promises to realize this noble vision through its continued efforts in updating and maximizing skills training advantageous to the general public, Butuanons and non-Butuanons alike.
