Ang Espesyalistang Mason

A pool of 46 prospective and uncertified masons graduated the Six-days training on basic and advanced masonry skills last February 27, 2010 at the Conference Room 3 of the New City Hall Bldg., Butuan City conducted through the joint efforts of Pacific Cement Philippines, Inc. (PACEMCO), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the City Government of Butuan.
Dubbed as “Ang Espesyalistang Mason”, the six-days training (February 22-27, 2010) is a corporate social responsibility flagship program of PACEMCO designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of masons in accordance with industry standards. Through a team of competent and TESDA-certified trainers/assessors, the program provides theoretical and practical training on masonry works such as learning the basic properties of cement and its different types, correct use of masonry tools and equipment, trade mathematics, safety in workplace, and even basic carpentry.
Out of the 46 graduates 42 were institutionally assessed as ready to undergo and pass the Masonry NC II Assessment Examination on March 11-12, 2010 to obtain the NC II certification and be included in the national roster of TESDA-certified masons.
