National PESO Congress comes to Butuan for the first time
With the theme “Kabuhayan at Trabaho, Sagot sa Pag-unlad ng mga Pilipino: PESO Kaagapay Mo” the event was highlighted by the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between DOLE and PESOPHIL to strengthen collaboration and partnership in effecting employment and livelihood related services.
Undersecretary Arturo Sodusta and Assistant Secretary Reydeluz D. Conferido of the PESO graced the occasion to deliver talks on the Rationalized DOLE Program and Employment Trends and Employment Roadmap.
Under Secretary Arturo Sodusta stressed the importance of helping the informal sectors through livelihood assistance. He also emphasized the role of the PESO and its Framework of Operation and its partnership with the DOLE in carrying this endeavor.
Topics tackled during the three-day convention were mostly focused on employment and livelihood enhancement, consistent with the theme.
The National PESO Congress is an annual activity of the national organization of PESO Managers that provides venue for the exchange of views on relevant issues in terms of organization, stakeholders, key players and sharing of experiences in each locality.
In attendance to welcome the guests and participants during the formal opening of the congress were members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Honorable Josephine Marticion-Salise, Honorable Audie Bernabe, and the multi-awardee National PESO President, Dr. Aurora G. Zaportiza.
