A long sought dream of the Butuan City Assessor’s Office to deliver a fast and accurate assessment services is realized through the Real Property Tax Information System (RPTIS).
It is an automated system designed to computerize the Real Property Tax Administration which can give greater efficiency and effectiveness of the system that reduced the pressure of the employees and the customer. It also played an important role in completing successfully the General Revision of Assessments and Property Classification Project within six (6) months time.
The RPTIS is a revenue generating application that accommodated the needs of the City Assessor’s Office and City Treasurer’s office to effectively manage real property information to facilitate an efficient real property tax collection scheme.
Records such as tax declarations and section maps are digitally stored which shall become the basis of the required reports of the office. The resulting reports can then be printed as required by the office.
Computation of dues and taxes are governed by laws and ordinances the city government of Butuan has adopted. The system adopted the said rules in automating such process. The report generated by the system are also unique to the local government of Butuan and is formatted following the guidelines set forth by the city, regional and national government.
The RPTIS is connected to the City Treasurer’s Office and City Mayor’s Office-Information Technology Division through the Local Area Network to allow high speed access and sharing of office information. It lessened the burden of daily endorsement of tax declarations from the City Assessor’s Office to the City Treasurer’s Office.
