MOA authorized for Tiniwisan Multi-Purpose Building

Barangay Tiniwisan will soon witness the rise of a two-storey multi-purpose building, as the memorandum of agreement between the City Government of Butuan and the Department of Public Works and Highways – Butuan City District Engineering Office (DPWH – BCDEO) has now been authorized by the 12^th Sangguniang Panlungsod under Resolution No. 405-2011, enacted during its 20^th Regular Session conducted on May 16, 2011.

In the said Resolution, the amount of Three Million Pesos released per two Special Allotment Release Orders (SARO No. A-10-08363 for 1 Million Pesos and SARO No. A-10-08392 for 2 Million Pesos) will now be used for the construction of the said building with the expected amenities, such as toilet facilities, and electrical and plumbing installation. Out of the total project allotment, 2.5 % will be retained and accounted for by the DPWH-BCDEO, subject to accounting and auditing rules.

The said construction will be undertaken by the City Engineer’s Office, which upon implementing the said activity will employ local residents for their economic advantage. This decision is sanctioned by the 1999 General Appropriations Act or Republic Act 8745 and the Public Works and Highways Infrastructure Program or Republic Act 8150, which states that the nationally funded infrastructure projects may be implemented by Local Government Units with the demonstrative capability to undertake the project by themselves.

Funding for this project is sourced from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of the ANAKPAWIS Partylist.
