Butuan City Donates P1M to Victims of Storm Ondoy
Despite global financial crisis, the Butuanons through its officials extended much needed financial assistance to our fellow Filipinos who were affected by Storm Ondoy by way of enacting SP Resolution # 421-2009 authorizing Hon. Mayor Democrito D. Plaza II to extend financial assistance to those localities deeply affected by the calamity where countless deaths were recorded,
hundreds were reported missing and millions worth of infrastructure were destroyed.
In its resolution, Mayor Plaza is authorized to extend Two Hundred Thousand (Php 200,000.00) Pesos each to the cities of Marikina, Pasig, Antipolo, and Municipality of Cainta, all of Metro Manila, chargeable against the 5% reserve fund of the city government of Butuan.
Accodingly, Hon. Mayor Plaza in his letter dated September 28, 2009, requested the Sangguniang Panlungsod the urgent passage of a Resolution providing financial assistance if only to assuage the pain, anguish, and anxiety of the victims.
