General Function: Take charge of all necessary measures for the prevention and control of animal disease. |
Vision/Mission: To help and empower Livestock and Poultry raisers to produce enough, affordable and disease-free animals through the application of veterinary science and mo-dern technology in cooperation with other government agencies, non-government agencies organizations and business sectors in attaining sustainable development of the animal industry in the city. Objectives: To take all necessary measures for the prevention and control of animal disease through diagnosis, tactical control, vaccination, environmental hygiene and ma-nagement approaches to prevent them from being in-fected with highly infectious and contagious diseases; To conduct seminars and training on the practical knowledge and skills on the care, management and production of livestock, poultry and including com-panion animals; To regulate slaughterhouses/s ad establish an exten-sive meat inspection system; To determine the problems and needs of both rural and urban families on livestock and poultry and develop with them a plan or plans for their solutions; To enforce all laws and regulation for the prevention of cruelty to animals. |

Office Function: Food/animal production campaign; Animal pests and diseases control; Campaign for the immunization of farm animals including companion animals; License and regulate the keeping of animals; Impose modern techniques or practice in humane slaughtering of food animals; Post-abattoir control; Proper disposal of condemned carcass and offals; Inspect, review, and verify relevant documents such as shipping permits, veterinary health certificates, cer-tificate of ownership and transfer and other impor-tant documents required for the slaughter of food animals; Perform ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections; Preparation of reports and maintenance of records and correspondence. |
