BMC to extend support to private birthing clinic
In its 19th Regular Session conducted on May 9, 2011, the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod approved Resolution No. 395 – 2011, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE CITY MAYOR FERDINAND M. AMANTE, JR., TO SIGN, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF BUTUAN, A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH IMAP BIRTHING LYING-IN CLINIC AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
With this newly adopted policy, the Butuan Medical Center (BMC) is now authorized to extend support to a private birthing clinic, the IMAP Birthing Lying-in Clinic, which has no facilities and equipment to administer to pregnant patients who cannot undergo normal delivery.
Under this partnership, the City Government will accept referrals through the BMC of pregnant patients who are unable to deliver their babies on normal condition from the clinic; administer proper medical assistance to referred patients unable to deliver on medical condition; and accept referrals subject to its rules and policies on admission.
From its end, the IMAP Birthing Lying-in Clinic shall adhere to the rules and policies of admission of patients of the BMC, and free the same from any liabilities if referred patients are refused based on hospital rules and policies, or for any valid cause.
