12th SP abets “Balangayan Grow a Million Tree Project”

            The 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod lauds the efforts of the City Government to support the “Billion Trees Project” of President Benigno Aquino by launching its own flagship program, the “Balangayan Grow a Million Trees Project.”
 
            To show strong and concrete support to this endeavor, which will enhance the local natural environment’s capacity to shield the city from the perilous effects of global climate change, the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod enacted Resolution No. 397-2011, A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MAYOR, HON. FERDINAND M. AMANTE, JR., TO ASSIGN THE BOOD PROMONTORY AREA OF BARANGAY PINAMANCULAN, BUTUAN CITY, AS THE SITE FOR TREE-PLANTING ACTIVITIES OF THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN CONSONANCE WITH “BALANGAYAN GROW A MILLION TREES PROJECT,” AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
 
            With this resolution’s tenor granted by Mayor Amante, the 12th Sanggunian, together with its office staff, will be able to significantly contribute to the reforesting efforts of the City Government. Apart from this, the Bood Promontory Area, which is a tourism destination of the city, will enhance its tourism attractiveness.
