Hon. Democrito “Boy Daku” Plaza II, City Mayor signed a memorandum of agreements with TESDA for the Invigorating Constituents Assistance in Reinforcing Employment (I- CARE) Program, thereby cementing the scholarship commitment totaling PhP 9Million for his poor but deserving constituents.

Mayor Plaza revealed that the city government has bankrolled the I-CARE scholarship program in tandem with TESDA because of his belief that his constituents deserved only the best for themselves. In a humbling tone, he even likened himself as nothing but a caretaker of the funds of his constituents of whom he desire to serve with utmost dedication with accompanying results.

Atty. Webb L. Racaza, City Administrator, in tandem with Dr. Aurora G. Zaportiza, PESO Manager and concurrently the BCMTC Manager, were instrumental in explaining and lobbying for the passage of resolutions in support for the I-CARE scholarship program component. Furthermore, Dr. Zaportiza herself has always been at the forefront, from conception to implementation, in realizing the gains that BCMTC has achieved so far, including employment of graduates abroad.

OIC-Provincial Director Velez revealed with a pride that the City Government of Butuan had achieved a historic distinction of being “the first city government to have signed the I-CARE Program in the entire Caraga Region. And this is but a big opportunity given by Mayor Plaza to his constituents.”
